Vanyar is a rather small American standardbred, a trotter which can also be ridden. His character is that of a genuine gentleman. He doesn´t even beg for treats unless permission is given first. Then he lifts his front leg and holds it up until he gets the treat. He loves honey and donuts (the owner´s father has connections to a bakery...) and licks the honey-jar with his eyes shut out of enjoyment. The Banyan Tree / Vappu whose box is next to Vanyar has also learned the habit so in my mind I renamed them as Winnie The Pooh and Piglet. (The owners didn´t mind).

Vanttu on pienikokoinen amerikkalainen ravuri, jolla myös ratsastetaan. Luonteeltaan Vanttu on varsinainen herrasmies. Hän ei edes kerjää herkkuja, ellei erikseen anneta lupaa. Silloin hän ”antaa tassua”. Vanttu rakastaa hunajaa ja donitseja (omistajan isällä on yhteyksiä leipomoon...) ja nuolee hunajapurkkia silmät onnesta ummessa. Viereisessä karsinassa asusteleva Vappu on oppinut tavan myös, joten mielessäni nimesin heidät tallin Nalle Puhiksi ja Nasuksi. (Omistajat eivät pahastuneet.)
