My visiting card was printed on the Polo Quarterly International´s summer issue 2004. I wanted to do a painting of a polo game before the magazine was published, but taking my own pictures I could use as reference was not possible in Finland. When the editor of PQ, Roger Chatterton Newman, heard of my problem, he sent me the spring issue of 2004 and gave me permission to use it for my paintings. A big thank you for that, Roger.
For this drawing I used a photograph of one of the top players in the world, Memo Gracida. His playing may look easy, but that ease has required years and years of practise.

Käyntikorttini painettiin Polo Quarterly Internationalin kesän 2004 numeroon. Halusin tehdä maalauksen poolopelistä, mutta Suomessa ei ollut mahdollista ottaa omia kuvia joita voisin käyttää taulujeni lähdemateriaalina. Kun lehden päätoimittaja Roger Chatterton Newman kuuli ongelmastani, hän lähetti minulle lehden kevätnumeron ja antoi luvan käyttää lehden kuvia maalauksia varten. Siitä iso kiitos Rogerille.
Tätä kuvaa varten käytin valokuvaa, jossa pelaa yksi maailman huippupelaajista, Memo Gracida. Hänen pelinsä voi näyttää helpolta, mutta sen ”helppouden” takana on vuosien ja taas vuosien harjoittelu.
